As a self-represented performer from Montreal, Laura holds an advanced diploma in Music Theatre - Performance, and recently completed her theatre training with an Honours Bachelor in Performing Arts from the Institute of Technology in Sligo, Ireland.
Laura had the opportunity, as one of twenty-five performers, to workshop and perform a new Canadian musical, The Dreamcatchers, as part of the 2017 Charlottetown Young Company. Most recently she worked with the International Italian Gruppo Jobel on a theatre pilot project exploring environmental themes at College-Marcelline. Laura is a trained vocalist and pianist and has worked professionally in PEI and Montreal. Most recently, she has been lifting spirits with her music during these isolating times, at Villa Beaurepaire, a non-profit housing residence for seniors. She was a member of the Saint-Anne Singers a cappella choir during their most recent season and now teaches voice lessons online. As part of her final year abroad, Laura wrote her undergraduate dissertation on the intersection of environmentalism and theatre. She strongly believes in theatre as a unique art form that can inspire change in individual mindsets and therefore work as an instigator for a societal shift towards a greener future. |
